I also exhibited at an exhibition exhibited by about 20 students and faculty members as part of the international exchange program at Tokyo University of the Arts. The video was taken of my work at the Hiketa fishing port, which is also a symbol of the city on display. I ran a breakwater of a very attractive length with "Koan-No.3" and had a cup of tea. About the exhibition
Set in Hiketa, Higashikagawa City, Kagawa Prefecture, 22 contemporary artists from Japan, the United States, and other cultural backgrounds will develop their works under the theme of "view of nature." Researching the climate and history of Hiketa district in Higashikagawa city, Kagawa prefecture in Japan and Chicago in the United States, deepening the consideration of the natural environment of the land and the relationship between humans and nature, and looking back on the differences in the views of nature and the cultural background that each has. I will. In this exhibition, through research work related to gardens and harbors, which are places where the relationship between humans and nature appears, and historical townscape culture, water, plants, mountains, landscapes, architecture, dwellings, celestial bodies, the environment, etc. are related to nature and humans. The artist engages the multi-layered elements with his own body and expresses a new way of communication between humans and nature with various contemporary art works.
Global Art Joint Project 2017 Overview
Tokyo University of the Arts Graduate School of Fine Arts has been working with the National School of Fine Arts (Ecole des Beaux-Arts), London University of the Arts Central Saint Martins, and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago since 2015. In collaboration with each other, we are implementing the international joint class "Global Art Joint Project". Faculty members and students in the field of fine art form a unit team that transcends national and university frameworks and jointly establish various exercises to practice social art practice (social practice of contemporary art). In this joint class of the Chicago unit, faculty members and students travel between Japan and Chicago to learn the commonalities and differences between the cultures of both countries, and fieldwork, workshops, and inside and outside the studio that assume social participation based on the theme of the unit. The purpose of each of them is to broaden their complex horizons and renew, deepen, and present their expressions by conducting production activities in Japan.
